Personal Best are going to the Olympics!

Personal Best: Health, Fitness and Wellbeing sports massage therapist, Michael Smith, has achieved a place in the medical team for the London Olympics this summer. With 250,000 hopefuls applying, Michael, came through multiple stages and will now be based at the Horse Guard Parade, a man made beach in the centre of London, providing sports massage for the beach volleyball athletes.

Where now? with Maggies Centre Edinburgh

The “Where now?” programme kicked off today at Maggies Centre Edinburgh. The 6 week programme supports people who have completed cancer treatments and are trying to make the transition back to normal life.

Personal Best: Health, Fitness and Wellbeing are pleased to be involved in running exercise classes and providing specialist exercise advice for those on the course.

Wester Inch Village Outdoor Training

Personal Best are starting a new outdoor training class at Wester Inch village in Bathgate this Monday 11th April (newbuild housing scheme next to tesco)

Class times are:

Monday at 6:30-7:15 pm

Wednesday 7:30-8:30pm

Friday 6:30-7:15pm

It’s run by personal trainers, so you can get all of their knowledge and experience at a fraction of the cost… in fact for the first week all 3 sessions are FREE!

For anyone who gets bored at the gym, this will be different every week, you’ll be doing things you’ve never tried and it will be banter doing it (plus the first week is free!).

If you are interested then either just turn up at the Simpsons Primary School or get in touch for more details. Please spread the word and feel free to bring some friends along. The more the merrier.

Following on from our recent success in being named the PSYBT West Lothian Business of the Year 2010, it has been confirmed that Personal Best: Health, Fitness and Wellbeing are to recieve a Commendation Award as a finalist in the West Lothian Start-up Business of the Year awards 2010, from the Chambers of Commerce. This is another excellent achievement, which caps a very successful year for the company.

Personal Best are a proud sponsor of an Edinburgh – Paris cycle team. We are sponsoring the local group who have trained for months to take on this excellent feat, in aid of the Mamie Martin charity.

The Mamie Martin charity was established in 1993 by the family and friends of Mamie Martin to advance the education of girls in Malawi. Mamie was from Edinburgh and worked in Malawi to provide education to those less fortunate.

We wish all 4 riders the best of luck and look forward to seeing them on their return, in 9 days time… we hope!

Deloitte ride across Britain support

The Deloitte ride across britain starts today and is a 9 day event which sees cyclists go from John O’Groats to Lands End. Riding between 95 and 130 miles each day is a massive task and there will be alot of aches and pains.

Personal best; Health, Fitness and Wellbeing will provide sports massage support on the local leg of the event. So far over £158,000 has been raised in support of paralympicsGB.

The Women’s Scottish Rugby Squad have been excellent at this years 6 Nations event. With a win against France and draw against Italy so far they are looking to add another tally to the win column against England today.

The Scottish Junior Women’s basketball squad are preparing for the European Championships, Division B, in Oradea, Romania (July 29th – August 8th).

Personal Best: Health, Fitness & Wellbeing worked closely with the squad last year and sports massage therapist, Michael Smith, will be travelling with the squad to the European Championships. Michael is relishing the opportunity to work with some of Scotland’s elite sportswomen in what is a very competitive and prestigious event.
